About Coach Chris
Bio & Accomplishments
Christianne Malone is a leader in Detroit’s renaissance through her work on and off the field. By day she serves as the deputy director of Build Institute where she assists local entrepreneurs with their ideas and small business development. After work she is the founder and head coach of Detroit City Lacrosse.
Christianne began playing lacrosse in 6th grade and has been involved with the sport ever since. Playing in middle school, high school and two years club in college, lacrosse has been a part of her life. After graduating from Xavier University (OH), she returned back to Michigan and began coaching high school lacrosse at Grosse Pointe North High School, where she coached at the JV and varsity level for 10 seasons.
Guided by a bigger calling to grow the game and diversify the sport, Christianne founded Detroit City Lacrosse, the city’s first lacrosse program. Detroit City Lacrosse is a citywide youth organization dedicated to developing student athletes of character and integrity who will serve as positive members of the community.
An active professional, she sits on the board of Metro Museum of Design Detroit, the Michigan Chapter of US Lacrosse, and is a member of the Detroit Recreation Advisory Commission. She also sits on the Detroit Police Athletic League Women’s Committee, a group dedicated to getting more girls involved with sports.
